If you're reading this blog and you're recently engaged, then congratulations!
Now welcome to the world of planning your wedding, it's going to be a scary, stressful, but overall an amazing journey.
The big question? How to choose the right wedding photographer? This guide outlines key points for booking a wedding photographer for your big day.
How much experience does your wedding photographer have?

Experience is key! When it comes to weddings, especially an Asian wedding, this can take years of practice. A photographer has to manage and coordinate large crowds of people, during different wedding activities while focusing on taking stunning photos of you and your partner.
If you're an interracial couple, has your photographer captured other interracial couples before? Does he/she understand how to correctly edit photos based on different skin tones? These are the questions you need to ask yourselves when viewing a photographers portfolio or instagram account.
Previous work?
All established wedding photographers will have an online portfolio of previous weddings displaying their skills as a photographer, pay attention to the quality of their photos, their editing skills and are they moving with the times? But also pay attention to a photographer's reviews/testimonials from previous couples, as this provides a true insight into the type of photographer they are.

Communication?
Great you've found a photographer's work you love and you've contacted them, but remember, if you love their work, so will other couples! Meaning a photographer's availability will be limited as they get fully booked through the year or even two years in advance. So constant communication is key.
Let your photographer know if you need some time to speak to your partner before confirming and don't leave us on “read" and don't wait forever to reply as another couple will beat you to it and book the date.
Will they meet your budget?
Let's face it, weddings are expensive but every wedding has a budget. It's key to find a wedding photographer that fits your budget. A wedding photographer will provide a breakdown of their packages and services, make sure you don't overspend unless you can afford it.
Time frames?
Most photographers will state how long it will take to edit and deliver your wedding pictures. You need to take into consideration it could take longer based on the demand from other wedding clients. This is where constant communication is key in you getting your pictures however, a good photographer will keep you in the know about time.
